Since 1985, the High Point Police Department operated from a converted elementary school. In order to create more space to accommodate its growth and consolidate operations, the City of High Point called on Samet to transform the former North State Building on Westchester Drive into a state-of-the-art headquarters.
This project involved the renovation and expansion of the existing 73,000 square foot facility. In addition to upgrading the main building, two new features were added: a front entrance complete with a stair tower and public elevator, and a sizable 16,500 square foot addition at the rear. This extension houses a variety of essential functions, including a sally port, storage areas, processing facilities, kennels for the K9 unit, weight rooms, dispatch centers, and offices.
