The Greensboro Science Center’s growing membership and foot traffic led to the need for more exhibits and space at the popular zoo. Samet jumped at the opportunity to provide enrichment opportunities for the Greensboro community.

Throughout this 11-acre expansion, a new one-way walking trail continues in a loop along this outdoor addition called “Revolution Ridge.” New species such as Pygmy hippos, Okapi, Cassowaries, and Chilean flamingos populate the climate-appropriate sections of a natural ridge going down to a pond with included water features.

This project hosts many memories, but one of our favorites was watching the zoo staff let a pygmy hippo out on the exhibit for the first time. The hippo reacted well to the space and now enjoys wading in the water pool and feeding on lots of lettuce, carrots, and alfalfa hay.

Alongside these fabulous exhibits, visitors can grab a bite at the designated food truck area or catch a live, interactive show at the Adventure Theater. It’s no wonder people from all over want to experience this festive, family-friendly destination in Greensboro.

The construction team’s commitment to the GSC’s satisfaction has been evident in every action they have taken. [Samet] brought a teamwork mentality to this project and proactively sought prompt and effective solutions to any challenge encountered. The GSC has certainly benefited from this partnership, as have all the animals that now call Revolution Ridge their home!
