Minor League Baseball Park

Newbridge Bank Ballpark began as the first spark in the growth of a downtown Greensboro location that was in need of revitalization. When it opened in 2005, the home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers held a crowd of 8,500 and spurred the growth of an area that now holds high-rise condominiums, hotels and restaurants. In the middle of downtown Greensboro, this park was designed to be a walkable family-friendly experience for downtown, and to bring non-city residents into the heart of Greensboro. The ballpark hosts themed game nights, pet nights, and family entertainment, and includes a plaza area with a food court and a playground inside the gate for young baseball fans. 16 sky boxes, a sports bar, retail shop, and a clubhouse were included in the design. Amenities for the players –therapeutic baths, massage tables, showers, lockers and a lounge area–are incorporated into the locker rooms for use before and after a game. Overall construction includes steel frame with steel deck, a classic brick facade, concrete flooring, and a sprinkler system.
