For over a decade and a half, Samet has been a trusted partner of Greensboro Day School, collaborating on numerous projects. These include classroom expansions, renovations of the media center, the construction of a new theater and fine arts complex, a new gymnasium, and most recently, a new middle school. As the school continues to grow its student base, Samet remains the go-to partner for further expansion projects.
The design of the new middle school building showcases a blend of traditional architecture with modern functionality. The two-story lobby features an iconic schoolhouse silhouette, while the one-story building utilizes sloped roofs to enhance classroom acoustics and natural light penetration. Academic spaces are furnished with cutting-edge technology to support advanced learning.
Outside the building, students can enjoy the tranquility of courtyards and an environmental garden. In a nod to sustainable practices, this garden is irrigated by runoff from the metal roof, collected in underground cisterns.
