As part of a strategic expansion, the law firm Akerman LLP needed more Class A office space in downtown Winston-Salem. They chose the 24th floor of the Wells Fargo building, a local landmark, to call home. Samet’s interiors group completed this sensitive urban upfit which included paint, carpet, millwork, and lights. A new IT closet was installed as well as new HVAC unit. Well-planned logistics were necessary to work smoothly within this occupied building with neighbors above, below, and on the same floor as this office. Possible sound intrusions and large deliveries were coordinated off-hours so as not to affect professionals in nearby offices. Floors and elevators were covered completely to protect them from dust and damage. As Samet began work, it was discovered that electrical and mechanical issues existed from a previous upfit. These systems were properly addressed and corrected at the time of renovation.
