The Triad Stage, acclaimed as “One of the Best Regional Theaters in America” by New York’s Drama League, has a rich history. The theater was repurposed from a five-story building dating back to 1936, which had been vacant for nearly four decades. Samet undertook the project, gutting the interior and transforming it into a vibrant cultural hub. Today, it houses a 300-seat theater, a welcoming lobby area, a mezzanine, a box office, and administrative offices.

Situated on one of the most bustling streets in Downtown Greensboro, the renovation presented unique challenges. Samet had to navigate the complexities of working within a busy urban environment, with both vehicular and pedestrian traffic to consider.

The refurbished building now boasts a structural steel frame and a masonry exterior, topped with a single ply mechanically fastened roof, combining historical charm with modern resilience.
