Norman Samet

Founder & Chairman

Norman Samet founded Samet Corporation in April 1961, and led the company through four decades of consistent growth. A native of High Point, North Carolina, Norman earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Norman has been an active business leader in the Piedmont Triad, having served as Past Chairman of the Greensboro Area Chamber of Commerce, the Piedmont Triad Partnership, and the High Point Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he has been a member of the North Carolina Economic Development Board, Greensboro Development Corporation, and Action Greensboro Core Committee.

Arthur Samet

President & CEO

Arthur joined Samet Corporation in 1991 as an estimator, and subsequently progressed through a training program encompassing all 16 divisions of construction and property management. He later diversified into real estate and development, obtaining his MBA while leading Samet's real estate division. Arthur was promoted to President & CEO of Samet Corporation in October 2000.

Arthur earned his B.A. degree at the University of Georgia and his MBA at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Arthur is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and has served on the North Carolina CCIM Chapter Board as President, Education Chair, Vice President and Director of the Construction & Industrial (C&I) Division.

Ron Rothrock

President, Construction

26 years with Samet; 35 years in the industry

Ron joined Samet in 1982 as Vice President of Operations, and was promoted to President, Construction in 1986. In this role, Ron directs and manages all facets of Samet's core construction business. During his career, Ron has been involved in virtually every type of construction including industrial, distribution, medical, office, institutional, and historic renovation. Prior to joining Samet, Ron held engineering positions with a manufacturing company and an architectural engineering firm, and served as VP in a design/build construction firm.

Ron is a graduate of Forsyth Technical Community College, Program for Management Development at the UNCG Bryan School of Business, and Leadership Triad. He is a licensed General Contractor and Real Estate Broker. Ron has served on numerous charitable and civic committees and boards including Rotary International and the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship in Greensboro, NC.

Marshall Tuck

Vice President, Administration

19 years with Samet; 25 years in the industry

Marshall leads Samet Corporation's Information Technology, Administration, Safety and Enterprise Risk Management functions. Prior to joining Samet, Marshall worked as a Project Engineer for Watts and Browning Engineers for six years.

Marshall earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Alabama. He is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina and Georgia, and a licensed real estate broker and General Contractor.

Rick Davenport

Vice President, Client Services

10 years with Samet; 19 years in the industry

Rick leads Samet's business development team, which creates and manages the company's client relationships across all market segments. Prior to joining Samet, Rick held sales and project management positions in the environmental and industrial construction industries.

Rick earned a B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts. His professional affiliations include North Carolina Economic Developers' Assn. (NCEDA) and the National Assn. of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Rick is a licensed real estate broker in the state of North Carolina.

Charles R. Johnson

Vice President, Operations

5 years with Samet; 35 years in the industry

Charlie is responsible for all aspects of construction operations for Samet, including field operations, cost control, and project management. For over 30 years, Charlie has been engaged in the construction of heavy infrastructure, industrial complexes, commercial buildings, educational facilities, recreational facilities, medical facilities, housing, and athletic complexes.

Charles earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron, and a B.S. in Environmental Sciences Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Kathy Pendegraph

Vice President, Finance

13 years with Samet

As Chief Financial Officer of Samet Corporation, Kathy is responsible for the company's accounting, treasury, and general finance activities. Prior to joining Samet, Kathy held accounting and finance positions in the manufacturing and public accounting sectors.

Kathy is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Guilford College. She has served as President of the Piedmont Construction Financial Management Association and President of the American Business Women's Association. In addition, American Business Women's Association named Kathy as Woman of the Year in 1999.

Mark Moser

Vice President, Organizational Development

1 year with Samet

Mark brings 21 years experience, including 7 as a senior HR leader and 14 years as an operations manager with sales and P&L responsibility. At Samet, Mark directs all staffing, development, and training functions, and is leading the growth of Samet University.

Mark earned his M.B.A. at the University of South Carolina, and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He holds the SPHR designation (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from the Society of Human Resource Management.

Blake Conklin

Vice President, Special Projects

As Vice President of Special Projects, Blake directs a team that serves owners by providing Samet's high quality contracting services for small-scale projects, additions, and renovations. Prior to joining Samet, Blake spent 16 years in engineering and project management roles for a large apparel conglomerate.

Blake earned his B.S. degree in Business Management from Florida State University. Blake served as President of Monroeville Rotary Club as well as other leadership roles in the Rotary Organization. He also served on various boards at Florida State and Auburn Universities.

David Greene

Vice President, Development

2 years with Samet; 17 years in the industry

As Samet's internal real estate finance expert, David is responsible for managing the Company's development, investment, and project financing activities. His extensive commercial real estate background includes lending, financial services, retail banking, and sales. In addition, he is an instructor at the American Institute of Banking in Greensboro.

David earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His community involvement includes:
